Covid boosters Posted on 8 Nov 2021

Many people are asking when they will be called for their Covid boosters. The task ahead of us is quite immense for a GP practice like Dorridge, as over half of our patients (5575) are due a booster before mid December. Additionally it is very busy in the Surgery due to the pandemic backlog, massive delays in hospital treatment and high levels of Covid and other infections, plus constant staffing issues (Covid infection issues). We have also been asked to vaccinate the housebound patients, something which was done by hospital Community Nursing teams earlier in the year (6000 patients in Birmingham and Solihull). We have managed to get out to our Nursing Homes and so far vaccinated most of our over 75 year old patients. As we get to the younger cohorts we would be grateful if those who are able to could book on line at the mass sites or pharmacies when their turn comes. This will release us to vaccinate those who do not have transport, are frail, living with physical, mental or learning disability or for other reasons are extremely clinically vulnerable
